This California Privacy Notice (the "Notice") provides information to California residents only about how New Media Technologies, Inc. and its affiliated companies ("we," "us," "our") collect, use, and disclose personal information in connection with giftrewards.org. Information We Collect From California Residents
We may collect information that personally identifies, relates to, describes, or is capable of being associated with you ("Personal Information"), including:
- Identifiers and Contact Information such as first and last name, email address, phone number (if provided), postal address;
- Demographic Information such as age range, shopping preferences, and reward preferences;
- Commercial Information such as the rewards, sweepstakes, products, or services that you have used, considered, or requested;
- Quiz and Survey Responses such as your answers submitted through our rewards quiz;
- Internet and Network Information such as IP address, device ID, browsing/search history, browser type, device type and settings, referring URL, and click-through data (including Meta pixel data).
How We Use Information of California Residents
We may use Personal Information for business purposes, such as to:
- Fulfill your requests: to match you with third-party advertisers, sweepstakes sponsors, and affiliate networks that provide rewards or offers relevant to your quiz responses;
- Email and SMS marketing: to send commercial communications and offers regarding rewards, sweepstakes, and related promotions;
- Marketing and market research: to place advertisements (including through Meta/Facebook pixel and similar technologies), build audiences, and perform analytics for market research and trend analysis;
- Website use and analytics: to provide you with access to our websites and analyze usage, including through third-party analytics services;
- Business operations: to evaluate, develop, and improve business operations, products and services;
- Compliance: to comply with applicable legal requirements, industry standards, and contractual obligations; and
- Information security and fraud prevention: to operate information security and anti-fraud programs.
Third-Party Selling and Sharing
We sell and share (for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising purposes) each category of Personal Information listed above to third parties who are not our service providers, including third-party advertisers, affiliate networks, sweepstakes sponsors, and ad technology companies (such as Meta Platforms, Inc.). These companies may use your Personal Information for their everyday business purposes, including marketing and advertising.
In the past twelve months, we have sold or shared Identifiers, Demographic Information, Commercial Information, Quiz Responses, and Internet or other electronic network activity information to advertisers, sweepstakes sponsors, affiliate networks, and advertising/analytics companies for marketing and analytics purposes. We do not knowingly sell or share the Personal Information of consumers under 16 years of age.
How Long We Retain Your Personal Information
We may retain each category of Personal Information for as long as needed or permitted based on your relationship with us, our legal and regulatory obligations, and our need to retain information for normal business purposes, including marketing.
Your California Privacy Rights
As a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- Right to Know: Request the categories and specific pieces of Personal Information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business or commercial purpose, and the categories of third parties with whom we have shared or sold your Personal Information.
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of your Personal Information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
- Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate Personal Information.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing: Direct us not to sell or share your Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: To the extent we process sensitive Personal Information, you have the right to limit certain uses.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise your rights, email rainier@nwmeglobal.com with your request and sufficient information for us to verify your identity. We will respond within 45 days (subject to a 45-day extension where permitted by law).
Authorized Agents
You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. The agent must provide written proof of authorization, and we may require you to verify your own identity directly with us.
"Shine the Light" Law
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of Personal Information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Such requests may be made by emailing rainier@nwmeglobal.com.
